Dry ingredients :----
Gram flour /Besan : 2 cups
Cumin seeds powder /jeera: 2 tea spoons
Chilli powder: 2 tea spoons
Coriander powder /dhanya: 2 tea spoons
Asafetida powder: 2 pinch
Fennel seeds powder/ sauf: 1 tea spoon
Cumin seeds /jeera: 1 tea spoon
Carom seeds/ ajwain: 1/2 tea spoon
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
Raw ingredients :------------
Spinach leaves : 4 to 5
Onions : 2 large nos
Garlic : 50 grams
Ginger : 50 grams
Green chilli : 2 to 3 nos
Tomatoes : 3 large nos
Lemon : 1 small
Water to boil
Procedure :-------
Chop the spinach and mix it with half of the dry ingredients except the Cumin seeds
Add water and make a tough dough
Roll the dough in cylindrical shapes (gatte) separately in 6 to 7 parts
Boil water and place the gatte in it.
When the gatte rises up from the bottom of the pan, it's done. Take it out and let it cool down.
Cut the gatte in small cubes.
Fry the gatte for 2 min and take it out.
In a separate pan heat oil
Add Cumin seeds and chopped onions fry till golden brown.
Add crushed ginger and garlic and let it fry as well till golden brown.
Add the remaining half of the dry ingredients and fry in low flame for 2 minutes
Add chopped onions fry till it melts.
Add the fried gatte and half cup of water.
Add salt and close the lid for 2 to 3 min.
Remove the pan from the fire and squeeze the small lemon on the curry and serve hot.
